2021 UPDATE Covid-19

2021 update- Covid 19

We are ready to offer full fly fishing guide and outfitting for the 2021 season. I have been lucky enough to have been vaccinated for Covid-19. This gives me confidence that we can safely fish while maintaining social distance and proper PPE. We will, of course, be outside and that will make it even  safer for you and for me.

Because of Covid-19, I will not be able to allow people to ride along with me but instead you can follow me in your vehicle.

The fishing outlook for 2021 looks good. Our snow pack is at about 70% of normal , so far. The snow melt fuels all of the streams in Northern New Mexico  and  Southern Colorado.

One change that will most likely be in effect for  2021 is that the upper Costilla Creek in the Valle Vidal will be closed for the completion of the Native Fish Restoration project. So, we will only be able to fish that stream on the public water in the privately owned Rio Costilla Park.

Colorado Private Water. I will have access to private water on the Culebra Creek near San Luis Colorado.  This is provided through the courtesy of  Ziafly in Taos New Mexico and the rod fee is $80 for a full day or $60 for a half day.  I, also, have access to some private water on the Costilla creek in New Mexico. Please contact me for details.
